What is a TM44 Inspection?

You may be unsure on what a TM44 inspection or whether you actually need one. A TM44 Inspection looks at the performance of Air Conditioning systems and are carried out by an accredited energy assessor, focusing on energy efficiency and how to improve this. This helps towards further reducing energy consumption, running costs for your business and the carbon footprint of your site.

Some of the things our TM44 inspection will look at include:

  • The size of a system in order to efficiently cover the area it serves
  • Examinations of inside ducts and units
  • Assessment of controls
  • Components and settings
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Faults
  • Recommended actions
  • Overall system efficiency

An inspection will review and assess the system(s) and give advice and recommendations on improving efficiency. We may suggest making improvements to existing systems, replacing older less efficient systems and/or offer alternative solutions.

Do I need a TM44 Inspection?

All Air Conditioning systems in buildings with an effective rated cooling capacity of more than 12KW will require a TM44 Inspection. If you are the building owner/manager, or control the running of the air conditioning on site, then you are responsible for legal compliance.

Regulations on TM44 came into force January 4th 2011 by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD). They are mandatory and must be carried out no more than five years apart. Unfortunately, there are penalties in place for businesses that fail to have an air conditioning inspection report if required.

That’s where we come in. If you are uncertain on whether you require a TM44 Inspection, let us come and assess your systems and we can tell you exactly that. Our team make the process simple and stress free. We handle the process from start to finish making it very straightforward. This leaves you to focus on other areas of your business and ease that worry knowing your equipment and site are fully compliant with legislation! Contact us today to find out more.
